The Direction of Services of Cultural Heritage develops studies and projects for building improvement and recovery. It also organises all registration files concerning every recovery and restoration work made or in progress. The department’s goal is to be able to do an inward and outward intervention in order to preserve the Region’s most important and culturally valuable monuments and buildings.
Concerning the area of traditional architecture, a rehabilitation project has been started containing several construction sets with thatched roof covering.

Rehabilitation of the classified ensemble of the Captain’s Tower, construction of the building that will support the different services to be provided, including an exhibition room and other supportive areas, as well as sanitary facilities.

Wall's repairing, whitewashing and painting of the window's and door bays. It was also made an adjustment of the southern room, located on the ground-floor, turning it into the exhibitions room.

Santa Clara Church and Convent| Conservation and restoring
Every year and within the existent budget availabilities, part of the moveable heritage is recovered. The great quality of the painting ensemble located in the church area, which was previously in very bad conditions, were totally restored.
