Publishing in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, as everywhere, can be seen in two ways, institutionally and private/commercially.
The institutional official publishing has substantially grown with new capacities provided and mainly resulting from Autonomy and Regionalization. These days and by right, not only local authorities such as Regional Secretariats and other public institutions are publishing. The commercial editions, although still in its infancy stage, are slowly growing and trying to mark a position in an increasingly wider market.
